This type of paint has a long tradition and was often used for facades in urban settings. In 18th and 19th century it was always considered as valuable product.
Working process on plaster is the same as when we paint wood. The main diffeence – wood has a neutral pH 7 while plaster has alcalic high pH.
Plaster can contain cement and lime. Bigger the ammount of cement quicker the drying time. In the process of plaster drying carbonisation occures – alcaline pH lovers and approx after 3 months becomes neutral. Therefor at least 3 months are required before painting the plaster. When painting an old plaster no wait is required.
