Benefits for craftsmen
OUR LINSEED OIL DOES NOT CONTAIN SOLVENTS
Conventional modern water-soluble and alkyd paints are largely waste products from the petrochemical industry. Using various processes, oil can be made water soluble. But the term water soluble does not mean environmentally friendly, most of the time it is just the opposite. To make oil paints water soluble substances are used that can cause skin allergies and eczema. In other words, water soluble paints often cause problems for the professional painter in the work environment.
Our linseed paints are a natural product. They do not contain any strange substances, only pigments and linseed oil. You can dilute the paint with linseed oil or balsamic turpentine, which is made from plants rich in terpenes (turpentine) such as conifers and citrus peel. The oil used for paints is pressed from linseed grown on the plains of Skåne. To ensure its highest quality, we produce it ourselves. In addition, our linen paints contain the non-toxic pigment zinc oxide, which counteracts algae and mould.
LINSEED PAINTS INCREASE THE DURABILITY OF THE MATERIALS
Our paints do not contain any strange substances, only pigments and linseed oil. You can dilute them with linseed oil or balsamic turpentine, which is made from pine resin. In addition to the labour and environmental aspects, linen paints have another positive characteristic; they treat and increase the durability of the underlying material. Linseed oil also has a lower surface tension than water, which allows it to penetrate through most materials and has excellent adhesion. Linen paints breathe and are vapor permeable, yet waterproof like GoreTex.
Water-soluble acrylic paints do not penetrate the surface and form a thick, dense film on top of the material. Such a film traps moisture in the wood, which in turn leads to rotting problems and the formation of scales. Moisture causes cracking in plaster. Such moisture travels and expands inside the material and if it gets stuck, the pressure will break the weakest material - the paint or plaster.
OUR LINSEED PAINT SHOULD NOT BE CONFUSED WITH "OIL PAINT"
What are commonly called oil paints are usually modified oil paints. They are sometimes sold under misleading labels indicating linseed oil, even though they contain only a fraction of it. The colours of these paints are made using a colour essence, a concentrate.
We use only natural pigments. Each pigment has unique properties, these affect the properties of the paint and therefore the most appropriate use. Pigments play a very important role in coatings.
HAVE YOU EVER COATED WITH LINSEED OIL?
Are you hesitating ? Some techniques are new, but most of the procedures remain the same. It's all about creating new habits. The total amount of time from start to finish is about the same. When it comes to the actual painting, there are a few distinct differences. When painting untreated wood surfaces, you don't need any "special products" other than an oil base coat or another of the primers. to treat the wood.
Painting with our linseed paint, will suffice. When applying the paint, it should be painted as a "varnisher", in thin and even layers. Our linen paints are usually painted in three coats. The biggest gain is a satisfied customer who will return when it's time for repainting or new projects.
Preparatory work before painting with linen paints both indoors and outdoors is minimal. The paint layers are thin and usually do not need to be removed. Our linen paints do not emit any cancer-causing components when heated or burned. Flax paint on the façade is "self-cleaning" and just needs to be lightly sanded when it is time to repaint.
OUR LINSEED PAINTS WILL INCREASE YOUR MARGINS
Is linseed paint more expensive than synthetic paint? On a per liter basis, you'll pay about the same for our linen paints as you would for synthetic paints from leading manufacturers. On a per square meter basis, when painting with one-liter paint, linen paint is always cheaper.
For example:
You will need 2.5 litres of alkyd paint to paint 10 windows and only 1 litre of linen paint to paint the same number of windows.
One of the biggest advantages is the easy maintenance of the surface painted with linen paint. The maintenance costs are half compared to the maintenance of surfaces painted with synthetic paint. We know your customers will be satisfied and will contact you again.
